LEADING THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY TOWARDS A ZERO EMISSIONS FUTURE
The Element 1 project website has been launched to help disseminate the work being done on the Element 1 collaborative R&D project working to reduce emissions in the construction sector.
Overview
Element 1 is a cross-industry consortium led by BAM which will develop the use of hydrogen as a supplement to lower diesel usage on construction sites, following the approval of a £4,872,653 grant from the UK Government.
Catalyzing Construction Decarbonization: A Hydrogen-Powered Future Unveiled
Reynolds delighted working as part of a consortium of industry-leading partners to demonstrate hydrogen as an alternative to diesel on construction sites.
The project, supported by a grant from the UK Government’s Department for Energy Security & Net Zero, will adapt and develop dual-fuel technology, enabling converted construction plant to use hydrogen. We will utilise our extensive Logistics and Supply Chain experience to support the project during design and operation.
The project aims to reduce the construction industry’s reliance on fossil fuels and has brought together a variety of contractors and suppliers from across the sector. We’re excited to be working alongside BAM UK & Ireland GeoPura Skanska NanoSUN ULEMCo Ltd Flannery Plant Hire, Plantforce to decarbonise construction.
HyHAUL
We’re delighted to announce that Reynolds Logistics are part of the consortium led by Protium that have been awarded more than £30m from the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom and Innovate UK to launch the Hydrogen Aggregated UK Logistics (HyHAUL) project.
HyHAUL is set to decarbonise the UK’s heavy goods vehicle (HGV) fleet, the heaviest and most polluting vehicles on our roads. The zero-emission HGVs deployed by HyHAUL will pave the way for a cleaner, more efficient transportation industry.
The journey towards a cleaner future is led by Protium, in partnership with industry leaders including Scania Group and CNG Fuels.
